***** Just like in Egypt! 07/21/2008 14:27
"I had hibiscus tea in Egypt for the first time--every place we went we were offered delicious cups of this hot, tart tea. When we returned home I looked for ages before I found Dragonwater's version, which is 100% hibiscus flowers, just like they served us there. (Before that I purchased bagged teas with various additions that weren't anything like what I was craving.) It is really tart, so be ready for that! "

***** Great recipe! 05/16/2008 15:21
"In San Antonio, Texas, a beautiful city with 68% people of Spanish origin, almost every restaurant serves Hibiscus tea, combining a hibiscus (jamaica) with peppermint leaves. "Karkade" is actually served in some restaurants combining Hibiscus, Mint, Ginger root, and White grape juice.... DELICIOUS! I keep it in my frig. Play with the amount of ingredients. No need to add sugar with the white grape juice. Kiddos LOVE it as an alternative to sweet drinks, and its very good for you. "

***** Beautiful & Soothing 03/31/2008 06:32
"This tea has quickly become one of my favorites; it's refreshing, has wonderful flavor and mouth feel, and it soothes me in the mid-afternoon when I am at my most stressed point in the day. I went out on a limb purchasing this tea and was happily rewarded; many thanks to DragonWater for allowing it's patrons to post reviews, otherwise I may not have tried this amazing tea."

***** I like it with other herbs 02/15/2008 20:05
"My favorite thing to do is to brew a pinch of hibiscus with a pinch of chamomile or a pinch of spearmint before bed. Nice and relaxing, I do like tart flavors--one reason I like this tea. "

"I wasn't expecting such a tart taste when I took my first sip. Next time I will cut the amount of tea in half and steep it for less time. Tough to drink without sugar!
[Edit: I have been drinking this tea for about a month now and it has really grown on me. So much so that I have changed my rating from 3 to 5 stars. If you're put off by the sour taste at first, experiment with different amounts of leaves, sugar, and steeping time. Don't give up on it right away!] "

"My husband and I love this tea. It has a strong, but very nice, flavor. We also drink it when we are feeling under the weather- it's great for a sore throat or congestion."

"I love hibiscus tea, so it was wonderful to find pure hibiscus. Many of the other teas I have tried blended it with black tea or other flowers. Just be sure not to overbrew hibiscus, or it leaves a bitter aftertaste."

***** Addendum to previous review 10/02/2007 09:55
"As an aside, I am currently in medical school, and this particular style of tea was mentioned regarding its lowering effects on blood pressure. If you are drinking this tea regularly and are taking medication for high blood pressure, you should probably notify your doctor so he/she can monitor your blood pressure closely, and make adjustments to your medication if needed. Just thought people might want to know. Nonetheless, this tea is wonderful! Been drinking it for 2+ weeks now before bed, and it's great at helping me fall asleep!"

***** The best Hibiscus tea I have found 09/24/2007 09:35
"I have shopped around and tried several varieties of hibiscus from various origins around the globe. I can safely say that this particular hibiscus is the most flavorful and produces the strongest cup I have ever tasted. A sweet/tart flavor with a little sugar added makes for a wonderful relaxant before bedtime, or chill it with ice for a tasty drink in the summer! I bought 1/2lb of this on a whim, and I was not disappointed! I will definitely be purchasing more in the near future..."

***** Not my favorite tea. 04/23/2007 02:43
"Not my favorite tea. I jumped the boat and ordered a pound of it after reading about the health benefits of hibiscus tea. I haven't adjusted to the strong flavor. I'm continuing to drink it because it's good for me but the tart "citrus-y orange-y" flavor even added to other teas is too strong for me. It may be an acquired taste.

However dragonwater's customer service was great as always! Thanks!"

"A very punchy red color with an equally tangy flavor. I like it alone, but I think it would be better blended with a fruit tea. "
