Description:
White Monkey Paw Tea. Rare, handmade Chinese tea from the Wuyi Mountains that, according to legend, resembles a monkey's paw.

Only the top two leaves and bud are picked during the morning of the first two weeks of the spring harvest season. The leaves are hand processed with only a gentle steaming. This tea is considered both a white and green tea. Has a velvety smooth flavor with a wonderful aroma. Produces a light, slightly sweet cup.

Use 1 heaping teaspoon per 6 oz. cup. Heat water until steaming. Steep for 2-3 minutes. Good for 3-5 infusions.

"Very light, subtle flavor- little bit fruity, a little bit nutty I'd like to say. Bought 1/2 lb of it, and will definitely finish of all of it."

***** Very delicate 01/20/2008 21:48
"Very mild and delicate taste! Flowery notes, but make sure to follow directions for steeping: too cold water makes it taste flat. "

"Green is not my first choice in tea, but this had such a delicate flavor I really found myself enjoying it more than others. Any green tea skeptic should give this a try."

***** Very light 04/30/2007 23:30
"It's a rather light tea, both in color and taste. The smell is very pleasant, before and after brewing. The taste is somewhat sweet, even with out sugar. Personally, I think I detected a hint of a fruityness to it. Very good tea."

***** Great quality tea 01/09/2007 11:34
"So far, this is my favorite of the higher-end green teas. It retains the sweet green tea characteristics but not as much of the vegetal flavor that can overpower. Very balanced and full of character. "

"Has a mushroom-y aroma with a very light flavor. I steeped for the full 3 minute recommendation and was surprised by how light the flavor was. Next time I might try to steep it longer."
